The REACH Foundation presents Shop with A Cop

On December 18, 2013, The REACH Foundation is proud to introduce its newest program, “Shop with a Cop”. This one-on-one experience is designed to have uniformed officers spend a day with underprivileged children while socializing, shopping, and providing guidance during the holiday season. The children will shop for their family as well as a children’s organization from the community where the police officer serves. This unique shopping experience for the children is an opportunity that deters them for choosing a life of crime or violence. The participating children are identified by schools, youth organizations, and social services agencies.

 

On the day of the event, uniformed officers volunteer their time to be with the children for a meet and greet/preparty at The Hawthorne Inn. After meeting the officers, the children will participate in a law enforcement procession and proceed to Target for shopping with their “Partner for the Day”.

The REACH Foundation, Yale University, and STOP Handgun Violence stand up against violence! Join us at the Yale Women’s soccer game on November 8th, where young women are invited to attend an informational session regarding the dangers of guns, gangs, and drugs before the Yale vs. Brown game. Admission to the program and game are free!
